SOLARIC Project
The SOLARIC project is a European funded project, developed within the framework of the Humanitarian Aid programme of the European Solidarity Corps, under grant agreement 101192273 — SOLARIC — ESC-HUMAID-2024-VOLUNThe SOLARIC project aims to promote the exchange of good practices and the strengthening of skills in the field of humanitarian aid and social inclusion. Activities include international meetings, training and mobility for partners, all funded by the Humanitarian Aid programme of the European Solidarity Corps. UYSTO participates in the project as an Associated partner.
Specific objectives:
Encourage the active participation of 44 young people as ambassadors of inclusion, equality and diversity.
Train 20 youth workers, mentors and activists in Uganda and Ecuador to lead non-formal education-basedactivities in local communities.
Organize 2 volunteer camps in Kampala (Uganda) and Otavalo (Ecuador), led by youth teams.
Ensure the sustainability of cultural change by promoting human rights, gender equality and support for children and young people in partner communities.
The project will particularly benefit vulnerable young people who are subject to discrimination, poverty or social exclusion. It will also work with local networks of schools, youth centers and NGOs to involve local stakeholders in the project activities.
Key activities:
2 camps of 59 days in Kampala and Otavalo.
2,000 children and young people will participate in extracurricular activities in local communities.
Training in human rights and gender equality, with a special focus on young women from rural and disadvantaged areas.
This international meeting in Alicante will be the first of several planned in the project and will include the participation of partners from different countries, including Uganda.
