FORestore (Forest restoration through Vet capacity Building)

  • FORestore (Forest restoration through Vet capacity Building) is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building project under Key Action 2, promoting cooperation among organizations and institutions in the field of Vocational Education and Training (VET) across Europe and Africa. The project involves partners from Slovakia, Italy, Greece, Nigeria, Ghana, Somalia, and Cameroon, aiming to address the urgent need for effective regulations to combat deforestation. FORestore adopts a holistic approach to develop inclusive, sustainable solutions, ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against deforestation. Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Neither the European Union nor EACEA can be held responsible for them.

The FORestore project recognizes the urgent need for effective, inclusive regulations to combat deforestation through a holistic approach that ensures everyone’s participation in the green transition. By focusing on developing competencies within sustainable forestry sectors, FORestore advances environmental sustainability as a cross-cutting priority. It promotes green sector skills strategies, innovative methodologies, and updated curricula that better serve individual and community needs.

The project will also contribute to the geographic multi-annual indicators for Sub-Saharan Africa, underscoring the importance of international collaboration to address deforestation. FORestore responds to the needs of communities dependent on healthy forest ecosystems, supporting both EU and African policy goals for sustainable development.
